Pool Proposal Tops Interest in Monday Night's Hamilton Town Meeting

The Fall Town Meeting in Hamilton starts at 7 p.m. on Monday night at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.

A proposal to spend $2.5 million in Community Preservation Act money on a new pool at Patton Park is the top issue attracting attention at Monday night’s Fall Town Meeting in Hamilton.

The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the auditorium at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.

Voters will also be asked to approve Proposition 2-1/2 debt exclusion measures to pay for boilers and new windows for two elementary schools. One vote will be for spending $930,000 on a new heating system at Buker Elementary School and another for $2.2 million for a new heating system and window at Winthrop Elementary School.

Monday’s vote is the first of four voters on the school spending measures. The proposals will also go before Wenham Town Meeting voters on Tuesday night and then, with two-third approval, go to a ballot vote on Nov. 21.
