Today is Monday, Dec. 17. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Rain: Monday is forecasted to be a rainy day, with on and off showers under clouds and fog with temperatures in the 40s. 2. Concert: The elementary school concert is Monday night at Buker Elementary School. It will be held at in gymnasium and starts at 6:30 p.m. 3. Meteors: The best meteor show of the year wraps up on Monday night. The Geminid Meteor Shower has been occurring since last week and peaked on Thursday night. With the forecast, it looks like we may miss out of seeing any meteors before the end of the shower, but if the sky clears there will be one last chance on Monday night to see the show in the sky. 4. Hamilton Begins Talks With a Possible New Dispatch Partner

Hamilton has found a possible partner to join its dispatch center after Wenham leaves to join the new regional dispatch center in Middleton.

Hamilton officials are in talks with another community that is interested in becoming an emergency dispatch partner after Wenham’s departure from the Hamilton-Wenham Emergency Center. Hamilton Town Manager Michael Lombardo told the Board of Selectmen this week that he has made contact with one town that is interested in examining the possibly of partnering with Hamilton to provide emergency dispatch services. Wenham joined Hamilton in 1960 to form the Hamilton-Wenham Emergency Center, which is housed in the Hamilton public safety building. It handles police, fire and ambulance calls around the clock, 365 days per year. But last year Wenham officials decided to join the Essex Regional Emergency Communications Center, which will be located …

Topsfield Fair: Tuesday is Military Day at the Topsfield Fair, where active military personnel and their families are admitted for free. It is also the deadline to deliver your pie for the pie contest if you filled out the entry form by Saturday. 3.
