Five Things to Know on May 10: Deadline to Learn the Life-Saving Skills of CPR

Today is Friday, May 10. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham:  1. Mix: The sky is forecasted to be a mix of sun and clouds on Friday with temperatures into the mid-70s. There’s still a chance of a shower and the day will start out foggy. 2. Leaves: Yard waste and leaves will be picked up just once at the curbside and roadside this spring in Hamilton, and that day is Saturday. Five Things to Know on April 4: Tryout for this Summer’s Seussical Production

Today is Thursday, April 4. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Spring: It will be a much more typical spring day on Thursday after two cooler than usual days. The high temperature is expected to get to the mid-50s by the afternoon and the sky will be sunny. 2. Auditions: The Community House is hosting the first of two tryouts on Thursday for its upcoming Seussical Jr. production. Tryouts for ages 8-18 start at 6-8 p.m. on Thursday. Anyone trying out should bring sheet music and come prepared to sing 16 bars, read from script sides and dance. The show rehearsals will begin in July and the performances will be Aug. 2-4. 3. Longtime Community House Volunteer, Pancake Chef, Honored

Tom Barrett was one of the first volunteers for the Breakfast with Santa event 30 years ago.

Tom Barrett has served on The Community House of Hamilton-Wenham Board of Directors for 30 years and he was recently honored with a commemorative chair which has been dedicated in his honor and is on display in The Community House’s Presidential Library. Barrett first joined the Board of Directors of The Community House in March of 1983 and served as President of The Community House from 1986-1988. While on the Community House Board, he was instrumental in the start-up of the School’s Out program, and served as President of the School’s Out program twice. In adition to his board member responsibilities, he has seen The Community House through a major capital campaign, the addition of a new wing of offices and restrooms and the remodeling …

Citizens Fire Academy: The final day to sign up for the first-ever Hamilton Citizens Fire Academy is Monday. The Hamilton Police Department has run two citizens academies but this is the first one for the Hamilton Fire Department. It is free and open to anyone over age 18. Today is Friday, March 8. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Snow: The snow will wrap up by early afternoon with temperatures in the mid-30s. Winds will really blow, with gusts up to 50 miles per hour. 2. Withdraw: Friday is the final day to withdraw from the election if your name is on next month’s local ballot and you do not want it there. 3. Mini Golf: The Community House of Hamilton-Wenham has organized a trip for middle school students over to Monster Mini-Golf in Danvers on Friday night.
