The wind will blow from the west at about 10 miles per hour. 2. Art Club: Hamilton-Wenham Library hosts an Art Club on Friday from 1-2 p.m. for preschool ages and up. Children can drop in for some free form art fun. 3. Powerball: This Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is anticipated to be $320 million, one of the largest jackpots in a while. Today is Monday, Aug. 13. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Hot: Monday is looking to be a classic summer day – sunny and hot with temperatures getting well into the 80s. Plus, the humidity is supposed to subside. 2. Water Aerobics: Here’s something maybe you didn’t know. Asbury Grove hosts water aerobics open to the public in its pool. Sessions are at 9 a.m. at Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The fee is $3 each day when it is led by a Grove lifeguard except Thursday, when it is $5 when a professional instructor comes in. 3. Story time: This week marks the end of the summer session of storytimes at Hamilton-Wenham Library. We’ll let you know when signs ups start for the next sessions. 4. Photo Contest: Tuesday at 8 p.m. is the deadline to enter Hamilton-Wenham Library’s “Dream Big, Read” children’s photo contest, where participants tell a story using photos mounted on a poster. There are two categories - children entering grades 1–3 and children entering grades 4-6 – and everyone who enters and meets the requirements gets a prize. 2. Gas Prices: Three of the four gas stations in Hamilton and Wenham were selling gas at or below the regional average on Monday. A gallon of regular was $3.54 at G & M Motors, $3.59 per gallon (the area average) at Oliver Gulf and Hamilton Convenience and $3.79 at Fallon’s Auto. 3. Five Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 3

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 3. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Weather: Tuesday afternoon’s showers were relatively uneventful and brought in some cooler air. That slightly cooler air is expected to stick around on Wednesday, with sun and temperatures in the mid-70s. 2. Big Trucks: All the trucks parked outside Hamilton-Wenham Library on Wednesday night will mean it is again time for “Vehicle Night.” There will be fire trucks, police cars, snowplows and more all on display for kids. It runs 5:30-7:30. 3. Freshmen soccer: Wednesday is the first of two chances to sign up for the newly reinstated freshman soccer program this fall at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.
