Today is Friday, Jan. 4. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Warmer: The temperature should get above freezing at some point on Friday, but it will be windier so it may not feel much warmer. 2. Blood Drive: Mike Bucci hosts the 4th annual Community Blood Drive in memory of his father on Saturday at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School. It runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and donors must be at least 17 years old or 16 years of age with a signed parental consent form. 3. Dunkin Donuts: Win a $50 gift card to Dunkin Donuts, with a location in the Shoppes at Hamilton Crossing, by following the chain on Twitter and answering their questions. Today is Friday, July 6. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Nearly Perfect: The weather on Thursday was very close to perfect – comfortable temperatures, somewhat low humidity and nearly clear blue skies. Friday should be close to that, with temperatures a little warmer and sunny skies. 2. Reunion: Graduates of Hamilton High School from 1933 to 1961 are encouraged to get involved in the planning of reunions. The Grand Reunion Committee is meeting on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hamilton-Wenham Library. 3. Free Fun: For the first time, we have a venue right here in the two towns that is taking part in the popular Free Friday Fun program hosted by the Highland Street Foundation. Today is Friday, Jan. 6. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Weather: It didn’t take long for temperatures to rise again after a chilly stretch midweek. The forecast on Friday calls for high temperatures into the 40s with cloudy skies and gusty winds. 2. School budget: A preliminary version of the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District budget will be presented at a public meeting on Saturday morning at Buker Elementary School beginning at 9 a.m. 3. Today is Monday, June 13. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Weather: Last Thursday’s sweltering heat will be a distant memory on Monday – the forecast calls for clouds and temperatures that will not even make it to 60 degrees. 2. Blood Drive: The American Red Cross is in town on Monday at the Hamilton American Legion from 2-7 p.m. for a blood drive. To make an appointment to give blood, call 1-800-Red-Cross. 3. Freshman Sports: The restoration of freshman sports at the high school is in the works for this fall, at least for soccer. Monday will be clouds with occasional showers and temperatures into the 50s. 2. Blood drive: The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive on Monday afternoon at Notre Dame Children’s Class on Grapevine Road in Wenham. It runs from 2-7 p.m. 3. Quiz Show: The high school’s college bowl team cruised to a win in the Eastern Massachusetts semi-finals of High School Quiz Show on WGBH-TV, channel 2 on Sunday night. That moves the College Bowl team on to the Eastern Massachusetts finals, which airs next Sunday, May 22 on channel 2.
