Today is Tuesday, Nov. 13. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Falling: The temperature will drop over the course of the day on Tuesday, from high temperatures into the 60s on Monday and lows only getting into the 50s overnight, the temperature will get down into the 40s by dinnertime on Tuesday. The sky will be cloudy with the chance of showers. 2. Wenham Leaves: Collection of loose leaves along the roadside and curbside in Wenham continues on Tuesday in the Lord’s Hill neighborhood off Topsfield Road (Route 97). Five Things You Need to Know Today: Dec. 19

An essential get-me-going daily morning column from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

Today is Monday, Dec. 19. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Weather: The coldest weather since early March moved through on Sunday, but temperatures are forecasted to get back up to normal on Monday. After an overnight low temperature into the teens, Monday will be sunny with temperatures into the mid-40s with gusty winds. 2. Skating: The first of several free, open public skates at Pingree School’s Johnson rink comes on Monday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. There are several open skate times scheduled for the public during the next two weeks while the school is on holiday break. 3. Today is Monday, Dec. 12. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Cold Stretch: The coldest weather yet this winter will move out about as quickly as it moved in. After a chilly Sunday, Monday will be sunny with temperatures into the mid-40s. 2. Court: Former Hamilton Police Chief Walter Cullen will be back in court this morning at Salem Superior for a plea hearing. We will be in the courtroom and bring you the latest as soon as we have it. 3. Wenham Taxes: The Wenham Board of Assessors are expected to present to Wenham Selectmen all the information Selectmen need to set the fiscal 2012 tax rate when Selectmen meet at 7 p.m. on Monday night at Wenham Town Hall. Today is Thursday, Nov. 3. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Weather: We’ll take it again on Thursday – the forecast is calling for a near repeat of Wednesday with sun and temperatures into the upper 50s. 2. Chainsaws: The sound of chainsaws has been in the air for the last few days in the two towns, with a lot of people cutting up the trees and branches that fell. And if it is not saws it is leaf blowers that are running. 3. Leaves: Last weekend’s Nor’Easter has bumped back the curbside collection of loose leaves in Wenham by a week. The collection will begin on Nov. 7 to allow the DPW to finish up storm cleanup through this week and give residents on the west side of Wenham – where leaf collection starts first – to get all their …

Five Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 1

An essential get-me-going daily morning column from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

Today is Tuesday, Nov. 1. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Storm Brush: Both Hamilton and Wenham officials made arrangements on Monday to allow residents to drop off brush from the weekend storm. In Hamilton, the landfill on Chebacco Road will be open again on Nov. 9 and in Wenham dropoff is at the West Wenham playground and at the Iron Rail property. 2. Leaves: Wenham’s curbside loose leaf collection was scheduled to begin on Monday but won’t get started until later this week because of the tree damage and other duties that require attention after the weekend Nor’Easter. 3.
