Local Spa Owner is Now a Mary Kay 'Influencer'

A Wenham spa owner, already a celebrity aesthetician, now has a sponsorship from Mary Kay and will serve on its Influencer Panel, introducing the skin care products to national magazine editors.

At home, Maria Lekkakos is one of a handful of small business owners in downtown Wenham. On the road, Lekkakos meets with writers and editors from some of the top women’s magazines in the country, taking about the latest product line from Mary Kay. Lekkakos recently inked a sponsorship deal from Mary Kay. Lekkakos, owner of M. Lekkakos Salon and Spa, is a celebrity aesthetician, who last month traveled to New York City to introduce Mary Kay’s latest line – Botanical Effects - to editors from magazine including Allure, Good Housekeeping, In Style and Women’s Day. Not a fan of braving the traffic and crowds the day after Thanksgiving at the malls just to get a deal on Black Friday? Then consider the plethora of wonderful opportunities to shop locally right here in Hamilton and Wenham.

Most local merchants will be open and ready to help with your Christmas shopping list not only on Friday, but also on Nov. 26 for the second annual American Express Small Business Saturday. Wenham Days Will Go Ahead as Planned Saturday

There are no plans to cancel, postpone or make any changes to Saturday's Wenham Days celebration at Wenham Museum, Wenham Tea House, Wenham Fire Department and other downtown Wenham locations.

"All system are go" for Saturday’s Wenham Days, according to event coordinator Cynthia Novotny at Wenham Museum. The impending arrival of Hurricane Irene will not stop, or even cause any changes, to Saturday’s planned festivities in downtown Wenham. “Everything is going ahead as planned, because the worst is supposed to come on Sunday,” said Mary Barthelmes, marketing manager for the museum. Activities will range from a lawn sale to cookout with fun for all ages. Juried artisans will have items for sale and kids activities will include games and facepainting. The event runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and includes free admission to Wenham Museum. There will be a plaque dedication honoring “Town Mother” Adeline Cole at 10:30 at the Wenham Tea House. …
