Five Things to Know on Nov. 28: Book Fair Begins

Today is Wednesday, Nov. 28. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Cloudy: Wednesday will be a cloudy day, with temperatures not forecasted to get much above 40 degrees. Plus, winds will gust to about 20 miles per hour. 2. Book Fair: Winthrop Elementary School's "All-Star" Scholastic Book Fair arrives on Wednesday. There will be student shopping during school hours on Thursday and Friday. The book fair will also be open to the public during the Holiday Boutique on Saturday from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. Proceeds from the book fair benefit the Winthrop school classrooms and library. 3. Early Release: As is the case on most Wednesday, the schools in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District get out early today. Elementary …

Here's a look at the businesses open on Thursday on Thanksgiving Day in Hamilton and Wenham.

Here’s a wrapup on what is open on Thanksgiving Day 2012 in Hamilton and Wenham. Restaurants Dunkin Donuts: Open 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stores Richdale: Open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. CVS: Open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., pharmacy will be closed all day. Gas Hamilton Convenience: Open 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Oliver Gulf: Open 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Most other restaurants, stores and businesses in Hamilton and Wenham will be closed. What Are Local Turkey Prices This Thanksgiving?

If you have not bought a Thanksgiving turkey yet, take a look at the local turkey prices as Thanksgiving approaches.

Turkey prices range from 59 cents to $3.29 per pound this week at the grocery stores in Hamilton and Wenham and nearby. Here's a sampling of turkey prices (per pound) at Crosby's Marketplace in Hamilton plus Shaw's and Stop and Stop in North Beverly. In addition to the brands and prices listed in the chart, some other turkeys available include fresh Shady Brooks Farms at Crosby's for $1.29 per pound and Plainville for $2.99 per pound. At Shaw's, fresh Wild Harvest turkeys are $2.99 per pound or $2.49 with a card, fresh Jennie-O for $1.39 or 99 cents with a card and frozen Honeysuckle for $1.19 or 69 cents with a card. Today is Wednesday, Nov. 23. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Storm: Wednesday will be a rainy day with temperatures into the 40s. Also, watch out for the wind, with gusts forecasted to get to 30 miles per hour. 2. Early Release: While Wednesday is typically an early release day at the schools, students will get out about 90 minutes earlier than a typical early release day on Wednesday. Elementary schools get out at 11:15 a.m. and the Miles River Middle School and Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School gets out at 12:05 p.m. Lunch will not be served. 3.
