The New Swampwalk is Unveiled and Buy Some Plants This Weekend

Get a quick look at some of the local events happening this weekend in Hamilton and Wenham and nearby on the North Shore.

Plant sales continue to dominate the spring calendar, but Saturday is also the grand opening of the new Swampwalk off the rail trail and an expert on lighthouses comes to Beverly to host a talk in a "lighthouse." Plus, there's a lot of other events going on in Hamilton, Wenham and the nearby area of the North Shore. Get the when and where below for several events and other happenings in the area. PHOTOS: Swampwalk Through Great Wenham Swamp is Done

The Swamp Walk has been completed and the "Golden Spike" has gone in.

The Danvers Swamp Walk has been completed and the "Friends of Swampwalk" will host an inauguration ceremony in the spring. The group also plans to continue having ad-hoc fun by adding new features, interpretive signs, tables and benches. The walk is a loop through the swamp off the Danvers rail Trail, south of the Route 97 crossing. Take a look at some photos from the final work.
