Playground Effort Reaches Goal, Construction Planned for Spring
The fundraising effort for a new playground at Patton Park has reached its goal, and some of the old equipment may get a second life at the playground in School Street in Hamilton.
The effort to build a new playground at Patton Park has blown past its initial goal and now has a March groundbreaking in sight. Already, most of the existing equipment, except for the swings, have been removed from Patton Park. Town Manager Michael Lombardo said that the old equipment has been brought back to the Department of Public Works to be rehabilitated and if it is still usable it will be installed at the park on School Street, which right now has two slides, a few swings and a picnic table. "We've had some requests from some citizens in that area," Lombardo recently told the Board of Selectmen. The effort to build a new playground at Patton Park began nearly two years ago. Congratulations to all of you who worked on this project. Mother's Club which was around for over 70 years raised money for the exsisting equipment over twenty years ago so it was time to replace it. Good Job everyone. Carol Mazzetta, past president of the Hamilton Mothers Club   more ›
