Monday, Oct. 8 is the final day of the 2012 Topsfield Fair, the oldest fair in the country. Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. The agricultural buildings close at 10 p.m. In the grandstand, the Flying Wallendas arrive for the last of three days of high-wire performances. They will perform for free at 2 and 7 p.m. The winners of the Parent and Child Cookie Celebration will be announced in Coolidge Hall at 2 p.m. In the arena on Monday afternoon and evening are two car competition - Figure 8 races at 3:30 p.m. and the Demolition Derby at 7 p.m. Before that in the arena will be a draft horse show. Saturday, Oct. 6 is the ninth day of the 2012 Topsfield Fair, the oldest fair in the country. Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. The agricultural buildings close at 10 p.m. In the grandstand, the Flying Wallendas arrive for the first of three days of high-wire performances. On Saturday, they will perform for free at 2 and 7 p.m. And Saturday also features the two headlining ticketed shows of the fair this year. Disney's Bridgit Mendler performs in the arena at 11 a.m. and then it is Hot Chelle Rae at 6 p.m. Tickets for Mendler are $20 and Hot Chelle Rae are $25. Sunday, Sept. 30 is the third day of the 2012 Topsfield Fair, the oldest fair in the country. Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. The agricultural buildings close at 10 p.m. Sunday is the final day of free Dock Dogs shows in the grandstand. Shows are at 10 and 11 a.m. and 12, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 p.m. The U.S. Marine Corps Band arrives on Sunday night for the first of many performances. The band will be on the Trianon Stage at 7 p.m. In the arena, there will be horse-pulling - both free-for-all and three horse hitch. Two other fair favorites - The Great American Duck Race and Robinson's Racing Pigs - run all day too.
