Stream of Storms This Week Will be 'Mainly Rain'

There will be several storms moving across the area all week that are expected to all bring rain to Hamilton and Wenham.

The light coating of white we saw on the ground Sunday afternoon is likely all the snow we’ll see as part of several storms that will move across Hamilton and Wenham this week, according to the National Weather Service. The greatest chance of snow will come to the northwest of the two towns. On Monday night into Tuesday, the next storm will bring “mainly rain” to the area, the weather service said. Then on Tuesday night into Wednesday northwest winds could really pick up. Winds during that time could prompt a wind advisory, the weather service said. And finally, on Thursday night into Friday, another storm will again “probably bring mainly rain” with a greater chance of snow to start the storm for inland areas.

'Active Weather Pattern' Includes 'Continuing Uncertainty'

Three storm, all with a chance for slight snow snow accumulation but mostly rain storms, are headed toward the two towns during the next few days.

An active weather pattern starts on Sunday and will continue through the middle of next week, according to the National Weather Service. On Sunday, there is "better forecast agreement" but there is "continuing uncertainty" for the forecast midweek. Most of the precipitation is forecasted to be rain in Hamilton and Wenham. Starting on late Sunday morning, the first storm may start as snow but changeover to rain. Possibly up to an inch of snow and possible ice accumulation will happen in areas to the north of the Massachusetts Turnpike and west of the I-495. There is no more than an inch of snow is expected in Hamilton and Wenham. A second storm will roll in on Monday night through Wednesday. It will be a coastal storm that will mostly be …

Today is Wednesday, Oct. 19. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Rain: Forecasters have been talking about it for several days – a rainstorm is moving in to the area on Wednesday. The heavy rain is expected to arrive by midafternoon and temperatures will be around 60 degrees. 2. Potholes: Maybe you remember the huge potholes that cropped up at the entrance to the parking lot at the Shoppes at Hamilton Crossing last spring. Well, those potholes should be a distant memory after a repaving job completed this week put a brand new layer of “hot top” over the problem area. 3. Gluten free: We keep hearing about it and you probably hear about it often too – gluten-free cooking. And on Wednesday there’s a chance to find out more at Hamilton-…

An essential get-me-going daily morning column from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

Today is Thursday, Oct. 13. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Rain: Thursday will be our first rainy day in quite some time. Remember the last time it rained? It was a flooding deluge Tuesday morning last week. Temperatures will be in the 60s and up to three quarters of an inch of rain will fall. 2. Breast Cancer Awareness: We’ve come across another local effort to support breast cancer research in October. Strong Winds and Heavy Rain to Arrive Thursday Afternoon

A line of showers and thunderstorms could bring strong winds and heavy rain to Hamilton and Wenham on Thursday afternoon.

A line of showers and thunderstorms capable of producing strong winds and causing minor flooding is headed toward Hamilton and Wenham on Thursday afternoon. At 1:45 p.m., radar showed the line of storms crossing I-495, heading eastward at 30 miles per hour. The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement at 1:21 p.m. on Thursday warning that the line of showers is capable of producing winds gusts topping 40 mph and heavy rain. The storms were expected to arrive along the Route 128 corridor, including Hamilton and Wenham, by 2:30 p.m. The heavy rain from the storm may cause minor street flooding and ponding, the weather service said, warning drivers to not drive into flooded areas.
