Pre-K Screening to be Made Up Friday, Some Spots Still Open

The annual Pre-Kindergarten screening was postponed from last Friday to this Friday, Feb. 15 because of the blizzard.

The annual Pre-Kindergarten screening that was scheduled for Friday, Feb. 8 was postponed to Friday, Feb. 15. Parents of the students that have registered were notified of the postponement, but there are a few time slots open, according to Donna Brockenbrough, the Student Services Secretary. Any parents that are interested in having their 3 or 4-year-old child considered for enrollment in September 2013 should call the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District's Student Services office at 978-468-5303 to schedule a screening appointment. Parents can also call the same number to request a brochure. Today is Friday, Jan. 24. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Cold Again: The forecast for temperatures on Friday call for it to be slightly “warmer,” with the temperature getting into the low 20s. The sky will be mostly cloudy and the west wind may gust to 24 miles per hour, creating wind chill factors as low as -6 degrees. 2. Pre-K: For parents that are interested in sending their child to Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District’s Pre-K next year at Winthrop Elementary School, there’s an open house on Friday. Pre-K Open House Friday, Screening is Feb. 8

Now is the time to start making plans to enroll in pre-K in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District for the coming school year.

An open house for parents interested in enrolling their children in Pre-Kindergarten is taking place on Friday, Jan. 25 from 9-10 a.m. at Winthrop Elementary School. Parents are invited to meet the teachers and visit the classrooms. There is no charge and no appointment is necessary. The annual Pre-Kindergarten screening is being held on Friday, Feb. 8. Today is Wednesday, Jan. 18. Here are five things you need to know 1. Sunny: After more snow than expected on the ground on Tuesday morning, we return on Wednesday to weather we’ve seen more often this winter – sun and wind. In addition to the clear skies and temperatures around 30, there’s a wind advisory in effect for Wednesday with winds expected to gust to 50 miles per hour, with the strongest gusts around lunchtime. 2. Christmas trees: We now know exactly how many Christmas trees were recycled in the two towns this past holiday season – 823. That was the total announced on Tuesday by Hamilton-Wenham Green, which collected the trees at Pingree Park. The trees were recycled with the help of Dodge Tree Service and Brick Ends Farm. H-W …
