Police Chase Through 3 Towns Ends with 9 Charges

A chase through Hamilton, Wenham and Manchester-by-the-Sea ended on Larch Row on Friday afternoon.

A man who led police on a chase through three towns is accused of almost hitting a police cruiser head-on and later almost striking another officer setting up "stop sticks." Daniel S. Brackesy, 39, of Belmont has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, failure to stop for police, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and marked lanes violation. In Wenham, police there have charged him with threat to commit a crime, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding. The chase started at about 2:45 p.m. on Friday when a green Volkswagen Passat passed Hamilton Police Officer Michael Wetson on Chebacco Road. Hamilton Man Faces Peabody Charges After Car Chase

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Hamilton man is facing charges after he allegedly led Peabody police on car chase last Friday. Marlon Dichiara, 23, of 432 Asbury St. was arrested following a chase into Salem, according to the Peabody Police Department press log. Peabody officers initially responded to a report of drug violations outside Stop & Shop in Peabody at 2:09 p.m. and upon their arrival, a man fled the scene in a green station wagon. Police chased the car into Salem, but eventually called off the pursuit and let Salem officers handle it. The car was found unoccupied on Hillside Avenue in Salem (off of Highland Avenue) and a Peabody officer was called to the scene to assist. The vehicle was towed to the Peabody police station. Salisbury Man, Allegedly Drunk, Leads Police on Short Chase in Stolen Tow Truck

Wenham police shortly chased an allegedly drunk man driving a stolen tow truck early Tuesday morning.

A Salisbury man who allegedly stole a tow truck before leading police on a short chase in Wenham was also drunk, according to police. Wenham police arrested Michael A. Carleo, 25, of 7A Shea St. in Salisbury early Tuesday morning in Hamilton. It all started at 3:38 a.m. when a Peterbilt flatbed tow truck was reported stolen from Tobyne Towing at 32 Cummings Ave. in downtown Hamilton. Minutes later, Wenham Police Sgt. Jonathan Gray saw a tow truck pass him on Main Street, turning on to Arbor Street. He confirmed with Hamilton Police Officer Joe Achadinha that it was the stolen truck. “The guy then turned on to School Street and then on to Perkins Street,” said Sgt.
