New Playground Moves Closer with Tuesday Deadline

Tuesday is the deadline for bids to be submitted for the equipment for the new playground at Patton Park.

The new playground at Patton Park moves closer to a spring groundbreaking with Tuesday's deadline for bidders for the equipment. A complete copy of the RFP is attached to this story as a PDF. It sets a deadline of Tuesday for companies to submit proposals to offer the equipment for the project. The proposal seeks equipment for both children age 2-5 and age 5-12, a typical breakdown on most playgrounds. Proposals will be accepted with equipment cost up to $59,000. An evaluation committee will look at all responses, taking into consideration the evaluation criteria and price. Once the top company is selected negotiations will begin and a contract will be awarded by Feb. 22. The RFP asks that the equipment be delivered no later than April 12…

Playground Effort Reaches Goal, Construction Planned for Spring

The fundraising effort for a new playground at Patton Park has reached its goal, and some of the old equipment may get a second life at the playground in School Street in Hamilton.

The effort to build a new playground at Patton Park has blown past its initial goal and now has a March groundbreaking in sight. "We've had some requests from some citizens in that area," Lombardo recently told the Board of Selectmen. The effort to build a new playground at Patton Park began nearly two years ago. Billy Boardman, one of the co-chairmen of the Friends of …
