Summer Series to Return to Park

The Sunday concert series at Patton Park, which has been going on for more than a decade, returns to Patton Park this week.

The summer concert series at Patton Park will return again this summer, kicking off this Sunday. The Sundays in Patton Park series has been happening for more than a decade, organized by the Community House of Hamilton-Wenham and a core of volunteers. It gets started this coming weekend on Sunday, June 23 with Broadway in the Park, which features show tunes "performed by local talent." Each concert runs 5-7 p.m. at the bandstand at the park and are free. Organizers suggest that audience members bring a lawnchair or blanket and pack a picnic dinner to enjoy in Patton Park. In the case of rain, concerts are typically moved indoors to the Community House. The concert series continues through Aug. 4 with a range of music styles. Some of the …

The kids are out of school and there’s no better way to celebrate than to spend an evening at the Community House and at Patton Park on Friday for the Community House Block Party. Letter to the Editor: Sundays in Patton Park Concerts to Return for 10th Year

Members of the Sundays in Patton Park Concert Committee write to introduce this year's 10th annual concert series.

To the Editor: Thanks to many generous sponsors, we are pleased to present the 10th annual summer concert series in Patton Park. This year audiences in the park will be treated to a total of eight free concerts (hopefully all outside!). As in previous years, Sundays in Patton Park will present a variety of musical styles each week on Sunday evenings from 5-7 p.m. It all starts Sunday, June 17 with "Broadway in the Park," showcasing our hometown talent - and continues through August 5. Bring a blanket or chairs and a picnic. Or plan to visit the Dug Out snack bar, sponsored by the Hamilton-Wenham Little League. They will offer steamed hot dogs, chips, cookies, candy, and a variety of healthy snacks, along with ice cold soda and ice cream …

Cultural Council Seeks Grant Proposals This Week

The Hamilton-Wenham Cultural Council has funded things such as the Sunday concert series at Patton Park and the Art Grow Here townwide art display. It is now looking for grant proposals for the upcoming year.

The call has gone out to community groups looking to have an arts, humanities, and science program funded by the Hamilton-Wenham Cultural Council in the coming year. The deadline is Oct. 15 for proposals from community-oriented groups. Organizations, schools and individuals can apply for grants to support cultural activities in the community. “These grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Hamilton-Wenham - including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures,” the council said in an announcement of the grant application deadline.
