The top students from Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School will join other top scholar from nearly three dozens schools on the North Shore at a recognition dinner in May.
The top 5 percent of seniors at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School will be honored with a dinner hosted by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce next month. About 300 students from 33 public and private high schools will be honored at the Honor Scholars Recognition Dinner on May 14. "The future of the North Shore demands a strong workforce with skilled and educated business leaders to be able to innovate and prosper," the Chamber said in announcing the students that will be honored. Joanne Patton was one of the Distinguished Leaders recognized by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday night.
Joanne Patton was honored Wednesday night as one of eight "Distinguished Leaders" for her years of local involvement, ranging from the ownership of Green Meadows Farm to the recent donation of her family's estate to the town of Hamilton. The awards were handed out during a dinner ceremony at Danversport Yacht Club hosted by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. Patton lived in 27 homes before settling in Hamilton, said Karen Andreas, publisher of the Salem News and outgoing chairman of the Chamber who handed out the awards. "Name a non-profit on the North Shore and Mrs. Patton has played an important role," Andreas said. Joanne Patton has been named a North Shore Distinguished Leader, a honor announced Thursday for eight prominent North Shore residents.
Joanne Patton, who earlier this fall completed the donation of her family’s homestead to the town of Hamilton, is one of eight winners of this year’s North Shore Distinguished Leader Award. The winners were announced on Thursday morning by the Danvers-based North Shore Chamber of Commerce. They will be honored on Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 5-8 p.m. during a dinner event at Danversport Yacht Club. The award is designed to honor “distinguished leaders in business, industry, community and profession” on the North Shore. It is the second year that the award has been given out. Congressman John Tierney attended a breakfast meeting with the North Shore Chamber of Commerce in Danvers Wednesday to speak about small business and entrepreneurs. Tierney, a Democrat from Salem, represents Hamilton and Wenham in the U.S. House of Representatives. He is being challenged by Republican Richard Tisei of Wakefield in this November's election. Ten seniors at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School and four from Pingree School will be recognized by the North Shore Chamber of Commerce at a dinner event in early May. The students will be honored in front of their parents and North Shore business leaders at the Honor Scholars Recognition Dinner on May 8 at CoCo Key Hotel in Danvers.
