A boy on a bicycle and a vehicle collided on Tuesday afternoon in Hamilton, leaving the bicycle rider with non-life-threatening injuries.
An 8-year old boy who collided with a vehicle while riding his bike on Tuesday afternoon in Hamilton suffered non-life threatening injuries. The crash happened on Asbury Street at the intersection with Porter Lane near Christ Church at 3:09 p.m., according to Hamilton Police Officer Joe Achadinha. Rescue crews took “full C-spine precautions,” he said, and the boy was taken by Lyons ambulance to Beverly Hospital. His mom came to the scene and was able to ride with him to the hospital, said Hamilton firefighter Ryan Goodwin. The boy had a bump on his head and remained conscious as he was being treated, Goodwin said. “He hit his head,” Goodwin said. The vehicle driver was not injured. A bicyclist was injured in a crash on Route 1A in Hamilton on Sunday.
A bicyclist was flipped over her handlebars Sunday morning after her bike tire got stuck in a rut along the railroad tracks in downtown Hamilton. The crash happened at 10:48 a.m. on Sunday when the female bicyclist from Beverly was headed southbound on Route 1A (Bay Road) with another bicyclist. Hamilton Police Sgt. Stephen Trepanier said the front tire of her bicycle got stuck in a rut between the road and the rail where rubber and asphalt should have been located. She was flipped to the ground over the handle bars. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and no broken bones and was taken to Beverly Hospital by Lyons ambulance. There are now sign boards at the crossing announcing repairs are scheduled for next week. Apparently the MBTA has decided, with the encouragement of State Reps and many citizens, that they need to fix the crossing before more needless accidents occur. more ›
