Five Things to Know on Nov. 13: Back to School

Today is Tuesday, Nov. 13. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Falling: The temperature will drop over the course of the day on Tuesday, from high temperatures into the 60s on Monday and lows only getting into the 50s overnight, the temperature will get down into the 40s by dinnertime on Tuesday. The sky will be cloudy with the chance of showers. 2. Wenham Leaves: Collection of loose leaves along the roadside and curbside in Wenham continues on Tuesday in the Lord’s Hill neighborhood off Topsfield Road (Route 97). Loose Leaf Pickup to Resume on Lord's Hill on Tuesday

Loose leaf collection is Wenham will continue after Veterans Day on Tuesday, Nov. 13.

The roadside pickup of loose leaves in Wenham will resume in the Lord's Hill neighborhood on Tuesday, after the Veterans Day holiday, according to Wenham Department of Public Works Director Bil Tyack. After that neighborhood, the DPW will then continue to Cedar and Cherry street and all side streets off Cherry Street to Route 1A. From there, collection crews will jump to the east side of town at Grapevine Road near the Beverly line. The DPW will head west down Grapevine Road, picking up all the side streets. After Grapevine Road, crews will continue on to Dodges Row, Walnut Road and Larch Row to Route 1A, then do streets on Main Street including Fairview, Patti, Fiske, Lake, and Great Pond roads. Lastly, the DPW will pick-up Main, Arbor, …

Five Things to Know on Nov. 5: Wenham Leaf Pickup Begins

An essential get-me-going daily morning column from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

Today is Monday, Nov. 5. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Autumn: Fall has definitely arrived, with temperatures hanging in the 40s on Monday and expected to fall into the 20s overnight. Monday will start out cloudy with an increasing chance of the sun poking through as the day goes by. 2. Leaf Collection: Roadside collection of loose leaves in Wenham starts on Monday. It runs through early December. It will starts on the west end of town along Maple Street at the Danvers town line. 3. Ballots: The final chance to request an absentee ballot for Tuesday’s election is noon on Monday. Today is Thursday, Nov. 3. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Weather: We’ll take it again on Thursday – the forecast is calling for a near repeat of Wednesday with sun and temperatures into the upper 50s. 2. Chainsaws: The sound of chainsaws has been in the air for the last few days in the two towns, with a lot of people cutting up the trees and branches that fell. And if it is not saws it is leaf blowers that are running. 3. Leaves: Last weekend’s Nor’Easter has bumped back the curbside collection of loose leaves in Wenham by a week. The collection will begin on Nov. 7 to allow the DPW to finish up storm cleanup through this week and give residents on the west side of Wenham – where leaf collection starts first – to get all their …
