Plaza Owner Eyes Purchase of Neighboring Property

The owner of the shopping plaza in Hamilton says it is working to purchase another nearby downtown property.

The company that owns the shopping plaza in Hamilton is looking at purchasing a neighboring property, but does not have any specifics plans for its reuse right now. Lisco Development, the Providence, R.I.-based company that owns the Shoppes at Hamilton Crossing, is conducting due diligence on the property at 17 Bay Road, where Mike’s Auto is located, according to Linda Meiggs of Lisco Devemopment. “We have not received enough information to make our decision,” Meiggs said. The plans call for the existing Dunkin Donuts setup – just two small tables and a short counter – to expand to 24 seats plus public restrooms, according to the application on file with the Hamilton Building and Zoning Department. It would expand the coffee shop from about 720 square feet to about 1,515 square feet. Dunkin Donuts’ plans go before the Zoning Board of Appeals on Wednesday night – one of four applications on the board’s agenda when it meets at 7 p.m. at Hamilton Town Hall. The Planning Board has already reviewed the plans and given it a positive recommendation. Its letter of …
