Ice Cream: One of the most anticipated events of the summer at Hamilton-Wenham Library is the Super Summer Ice Cream Party – which is Wednesday night at 6 p.m. The event, which features Cherry Farm Creamery ice cream – actually requires advance registration and children need to bring their summer reading log, which serves as the entry ticket. 2. Fresh Air: We had several visitors to the two towns earlier this summer as part of the Fresh Air fund, when seven kids from “disadvantaged communities” in New York City came here as part of the program, which arranges visits for those children to suburban and rural communities in 13 Northeastern states. Five Things to Know Today in Hamilton and Wenham: June 6

Today is Wednesday, June 6. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Rail Trail: The ribbon was officially cut Saturday for the “Danvers Rail Trail,” which stretches into Wenham. It connects Topsfield to Danvers and passes through the Great Wenham Swamp. Part of the festivities, which were moved to the Danvers Indoor Sports Arena because of the rain, included a performance by Enon Brass and the Wenham Town Band, shown in the attached photo. 2. 50%: Banbury Cross Children’s Bookshop on Wednesday is moving a step closer to its final closing day when all of the inventory will be marked at 50 percent off through June 16 (the final day). Last Chance: Deadlines You Need to Know in Hamilton and Wenham This Week

An opportunity to register for this summer's Wenham Village Improvement Society summer camp and a chance to speak with the final two school superintendent are two "last chances" coming up this week.

Teen Poetry Contest Monday is the deadline to enter Hamilton-Wenham Library’s second annual Teen Poetry Contest. Teenagers in grades 6 to 12 can enter and ends at midnight on Monday night, April 30. Today is Thursday, Feb. 23. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Repeat: Let’s do it again – expect another warm day with temperatures into the 50s again on Thursday. There will be a mix of clouds and sun. Despite the warm temperatures, there’s actually a chance for a small coating of snow on Thursday night before a changeover to rain. 2. Trash: Trash pickup is delayed by one day this week because of Presidents’ Day on Monday. That means usual Wednesday pickup in Hamilton happens today. 3. Five Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 13

An essential get-me-going daily morning column from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

Today is Monday, Feb. 13. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Normal: After an overhyped and underperforming “snowstorm” on Saturday and a chilly Sunday, things return to “normal” on Monday - weatherwise. The skies will be sunny and temperatures will be into the mid-30s with wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour. 2. Belay: School vacation week is next week and one great local activity is the La Vida Rock Gym at Gordon College. The wall will have special hours for vacation week. One way you can get a head start on the fun is for a parent to take a belay class ahead of time.
