Today is Friday, Nov. 16. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham:  1. Sun: Another great fall day is in store on Friday with sunny skies forecasted along with temperatures again into the 40s. 2. Dick Eddy: The longtime volunteer behind events such as Kite Day will be honored on Friday – it is Dick Eddy Day at the Wenham Senior Center. The event starts at noon and will include visits from state Senator Bruce Tarr and state Rep. Brad Hill with legislative citations plus the Board of Selectmen and Town Administrator with a municipal proclamation. 3. Go fly a kite this weekend. No, we’re not telling you to bug off - we’re serious. Archie Stewart brings his popular kite tour to our area on Saturday at Birch Plains Fields in Beverly, which is off Route 97 near the entrance to Beverly Airport, just south of the Wenham townline. Five Things to Know Today in Hamilton and Wenham: Aug. 8

Today is Wednesday, Aug. 8. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Muggier: It is expected to get muggier on Wednesday after two absolutely perfect days to start the week. The skies will be sunny and temperatures will get well into the 80s. 2. Kite Day: Organizers of this Saturday’s Kite Day are looking for a few volunteers, age 12 and up, to help younger children put together their kites. Kite Day is a cooperative effort between the Wenham Council on Aging and the Beverly Recreation Department that will happens at Birch Plains Fields near Beverly Airport on Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Volunteers should call the Wenham COA at 978- 468-5529. 3. VIDEO: Communities Come Together For Kite Flying

Hamilton, Wenham and Beverly collaborate to brings residents the fifth annual Kite Day.

About 250 people passed through Birch Plains Field to join in on a kite flying adventure.  Kite Day, sponsored by the Friends of the Wenham Council on Aging, Wenham Council on Aging, Hamilton-Wenham Recreation Department, and the city of Beverly Recreation Department, is in its fifth year. Dick Eddy, chairman of Kite Day, said it was one of its most successful years.  Organizers of the event hope it can bridge the generational divide between young and old.  "The opportunity for some of the seniors that are alone, they get to see the little ones and it warms the heart," said Paul Mendonca, a Wenham Council on Aging board member.

Republicans are having their annual afternoon at Myopia Polo on Sunday. The Hamilton Republican Town Committee and the Essex Club are hosting “Politics and Polo” beginning at 2 p.m. before the match starts at 3 p.m. The event is at the VIP pavilion and is $20 per person in addition to polo admission. 3.
