Nominations are open through June 30 for the new Joanne Holbrook Patton Community Service Award, which honors somebody "that has exhibited extraordinary dedication to volunteerism and/or community service."

Patton Named 'North Shore Distinguished Leader'

Joanne Patton has been named a North Shore Distinguished Leader, a honor announced Thursday for eight prominent North Shore residents.

Joanne Patton, who earlier this fall completed the donation of her family’s homestead to the town of Hamilton, is one of eight winners of this year’s North Shore Distinguished Leader Award. The winners were announced on Thursday morning by the Danvers-based North Shore Chamber of Commerce. They will be honored on Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 5-8 p.m. during a dinner event at Danversport Yacht Club. The award is designed to honor “distinguished leaders in business, industry, community and profession” on the North Shore. It is the second year that the award has been given out. Joanne Patton Serves as Chairwoman of Pingree Outdoor Art Exhibit

The Flying Horse Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit returns this fall to Pingree School for the third straight year, with Joanne Patton serving as the honorary chairwoman.

The honorary chairwoman of the third annual Flying Horse Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit at Pingree School is Joanne Holbrook Patton. Patton, who lives not far from the Pingree campus, is the widow of Major Gen. George S. Patton IV and daughter-in-law of World War II General George S. Patton. She just moved to Topsfield after donating her family’s Asbury Street estate to the town of Hamilton. In announcing the show, Pingree said Patton is a strong supporter of the arts. She has also used Green Meadows Farm, which she owns, to display outdoor art. The Pingree show features 36 pieces by 25 New England artists displayed throughout the school's 100-acre campus.
