Today is Tuesday, April 17. Here are five things you need to know:  1. Beautiful: Monday was a great day weatherwise, and Tuesday should be just about as good. The forecast calls for sunny skies with temperatures into the 70s. 2. Trash: Monday was a holiday (Patriots’ Day) so trash pickup starts for the week on Tuesday in Wenham and will be delayed by a day for the rest of the week. When pickup moves to Hamilton on Thursday, it is a “blue bag” week, meaning collection will be for recycling and organics in the green barrel and trash can only be put out in a blue trash bag. Trash in the town-issued black barrel will not happen this week and resume next week. 3. Hamilton Selectmen: Typically, the Hamilton Board of Selectmen meets on Monday …

Today is Thursday, April 12. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Cloudy: Thursday will be a mostly cloudy day with a chance of showers with temperatures into the lower 50s. 2. Trash: If you have questions about the new trash, recycling and organics collection program, there’s yet another chance to get those questions answered on Thursday night at Hamilton-Wenham Library. There will be a Trash Q&A forum at 6:30 p.m. 3. Grown Ups 2: You may likely remember that three years ago Adam Sandler and company spent some of the summer shooting scenes for the film “Grown Ups” on Chebacco Lake. An essential get-me-going daily morning column from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

Today is Wednesday, April 4. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Trash: The kickoff of the new trash program moves to Hamilton on Wednesday. For the rest of the week, recycling and organics collection will happen on the regular day in Hamilton but there will be no trash pickup in the new black bins. Instead, only trash placed out in a blue bag will be picked up. Next week trash in the black bins, organics in the green bins and recycling in a labeled container will all be collected in Hamilton. Today is Tuesday, April 3. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Trash: One of our “things to know” will be the new trash program all week long. The new program affects almost every resident of the two towns and the program’s changes are going into place all week long. It started in Wenham on Monday and continues on Tuesday in Wenham before beginning on Wednesday in Hamilton - all on the regular collection day. Trash, recycling and organics collection will happen weekly in Wenham, while this week there will be just recycling and organics collection in Hamilton. What You Can and Can't Put in the New Green Organics Bins

Town officials in Hamilton and Wenham explain the new curbside organics recycling program, which is one of the changes that is coming with the new trash, recycling and organics collection program that begins on April 2.

The following was submitted by Hamilton Town Manager Michael Lombardo, Wenham Town Administrator Jeff Chelgren and Sue Patrolia, sustainability coordinator for Hamilton and Wenham. It is part 3 of 3 in a series of articles in advance of the new trash, recycling and organics program, which begins on April 2. Starting the first week of April, residents of Hamilton and Wenham will be able to take advantage of the new trash and recycling services. Weekly curbside organic recycling is a “First in the Commonwealth” service now offered to Hamilton and Wenham residents as part of the new trash program. Waste removal is an expensive taxpayer-funded municipal program costing the towns about to $650,000 per year. The cost is split between the …

Today is Monday, March 19. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Cooler: We’ll be closer to normal with the temperatures on Monday, with the forecast calling for high temperatures close to 60 with a northeast wind keeping things cooler than Sunday. There’s a chance of some clouds and rain but the sun should also poke through. 2. Idlewood Park is a sliver of town owned land that contains the granite stairs that complete the popular walking loop of Lake Dr, Pleasant, Monument, Main St, and Arbor/Highland. Delivery Date Set for New Town-Issued Trash Barrels

The new trash plan is a month away from starting and town officials have set a delivery date for the new trash barrels that will go to every household.

Delivery of new trash barrels for each household in Hamilton and Wenham is now two weeks away. Hamilton town officials announced late last week that the new 35 gallon trash barrels will be delivered during the week of March 19. The new barrels are part of a new trash collection plan that is scheduled to begin on April 2 in Wenham and April 4 in Hamilton. The first week will be an “off” week in Hamilton, meaning there will be recycling and organics collection but there will be no solid waste collection that week unless trash is placed out in a blue bag. Today is Monday, March 5. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Looking Ahead: The forecast for later this week sure makes it look like last week’s snowstorm will be a distant memory.
