Today is Tuesday, July 24. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Winthrop Principal: Tuesday night is your chance to meet the two finalists for the Winthrop Elementary School principal job. A meet and greet with Christopher Heath, currently principal at Goodyear Elementary School in Woburn and Amy Pasquarello, currently the Integrated Media Specialist at Winthrop, is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at Winthrop. At Monday night’s Hamilton Board of Selectmen meeting, Selectman Jeff Hubbard said Pasquarello had been chosen, but afterward Superintendent Michel Harvey, who has the final decision, said neither candidate has been selected yet and the meet-and-greet is still scheduled to happen. 2. Tuesday will be a sunny day with temperatures into the low to mid-80s. 2. $3.39: It’s the going rate right now in Hamilton - $3.39. All three gas stations in Hamilton - G & M Motors, Hamilton Convenience and Oliver Gulf – were selling a gallon of regular gas for that price on Monday. At Fallon’s in Wenham, a gallon was selling for $3.69. 3. Martha’s Vineyard: If you plan to take the Community House’s trip to Martha’s Vineyard later this summer, you must register and pay by Tuesday. It is two cents more - $3.31 – at both Hamilton Convenience and Oliver Gulf and its $3.69 per gallon at Fallon’s. 3. Bridge: Tuesday is your last chance to sign up for a series of Bridge Classes this summer that start on July 17 at Hamilton-Wenham Library. The new program affects almost every resident of the two towns and the program’s changes are going into place all week long. It started in Wenham on Monday and continues on Tuesday in Wenham before beginning on Wednesday in Hamilton - all on the regular collection day. Trash, recycling and organics collection will happen weekly in Wenham, while this week there will be just recycling and organics collection in Hamilton. We have a real life, local example of increasing gas prices in Hamilton on Monday, where the price at Hamilton Convenience went up from $3.65 to $3.69 between noon and 5 p.m. That equaled neighboring Oliver Gulf and was a cent more than G & M Motors.
