Today is Wednesday, Nov. 21. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Clouds: Wednesday will be the cloudiest day in a while, but there is not expected to be any precipitation and temperatures will get close to 50 degrees. 2. School: Wednesday is a half day for students in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District, with the elementary schools getting out at 11:15 a.m. and Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School and Miles River Middle School being dismissed at 12:05 p.m. Lunch will not be served. 3. Five Things to Know Today in Hamilton and Wenham: Aug. 17

Today is Friday, Aug. 17. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Voter Registration: Friday is the final day to register to vote in advance of the Sept. 7 primary election. Typically, Town Clerk’s offices are open until 8 p.m. on the final day to register before an election. But this is the first Thursday election and that means the deadline falls on a Friday. So Secretary of State Bill Galvin said that clerk’s offices, including at Hamilton Town Hall and Wenham Town Hall, can close at 5 p.m. 2. Readers Choice: Friday is the final day to place a vote in the Best of Patch Readers’ Choice contest. Hamilton Police Launching Second Citizens Academy

This fall, the Hamilton Police Department will be hosting a second Citizens Police Academy and it taking applications now to fill the 20 seats in the academy.

The Hamilton Police Department is planning a second Citizens Police Academy - scheduled for this fall. Anyone who is interested in participating is asked to sign up now. The academy will start on Sept. 18 and run ten consecutive Tuesday nights from 6:30-9:30 p.m. though Nov. 20. There is no charge to take part, but enrollment is limited to 20 people over the age of 18. It is open to anyone but preference will be given to Hamilton residents. The Citizen Police Academy is designed to familiarize citizens with the operation and function of the Hamilton Police Department. Hamilton Police ran its first Citizens Police Academy last fall.
