Conwell to Hand Out 335 Degrees on Saturday

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary will award 335 master's and doctorate degrees on Saturday.

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary will confer 290 master’s degrees and 45 Doctor of Ministry degrees during commencement exercises on Saturday morning in the Bennett Center at Gordon College. The ceremonies, which start at 10 a.m., will also include the graduating students from the Center for Urban Ministerial Education, the Boston campus of Gordon-Conwell. The commencement speaker will be Rev. Dr. Roberto Miranda, senior pastor of Congregación León de Judá, one of Boston’s largest churches. Congregación León de Judá is widely recognized for its outreach to minority youth and Latino immigrants. Most recently, Miranda was one of the religious leaders that spoke during the Interfaith Service held in Boston following the Boston Marathon …

'Angie Blend' is Creation of Hamilton Tea Company

A special tea blend at Jolie Tea Co. in Hamilton plays tribute to American Idol star Angie Miller of Beverly.

Amy Job hopes that American Idol star Angie Miller of Beverly gets to taste some of the 'Angie Blend" when she returns to the North Shore this weekend. Job, who owns Jolie Tea Co. on Bay Road in downtown Hamilton, came up with the blend to honor the singer, who on Thursday night reached the Top 3 on season 12 of the show. Miller's spot in the Top 3 means she gets a hometown visit on Saturday that will include a parade through downtown Beverly and a concert. The blend, which is available in free samples at the store, includes pomegranate, rose pedals, ginger and lavender and is a China green tea. "She will hopefully get to try the tea when she comes home," Job said on Thursday, before the Top 3 results were announced during the show on …

Person Taken By MedFlight After Boating Accident

A medical helicopter was called to Hamilton on Saturday for a person who was seriously injured in a boating accident.

A man was taken to the hospital in a medical helicopter on Saturday afternoon following a boating accident on Chebacco Lake. The incident happened at about 2:45 p.m. There were not a lot of details available on Saturday evening, but according to Twitter posts from people who monitor public safety radio transmissions, they said the incident involved a person who suffered a severed limb. An ambulance was first called to Norris Road and then the medical helicopter landed at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Hamilton Police Department Sgt. Stephen Walsh said that no press release on the incident had been prepared on Saturday evening and that more information would be available on Sunday. 4-Year-Old Injured When Car Rolls From Parking Space

A 4-year-old was injured on Saturday morning in an incident involcing a rolling car on the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary campus.

A 4-year-old child was injured when they fell from a rolling car on the campus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary on Saturday morning. Police and fire crews were called to Bell Hall, on the campus near the corner of Bridge and Woodbury streets,  at 8:03 a.m., according to a written statement from Hamilton police Sgt. Stephen Trepanier. The vehicle – police did not name the make or model – rolled out of a parking space.  Inside was a 2-year-old and 4 year-old. The mother tried to stop the vehicle from rolling and while doing that received minor injuries. But the 4-year-old received more serious injuries. Parent Survey: Friday is the final day for parents to fill out an online survey that asks for opinions about parent involvement in the schools. Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District was selected as one of the districts in the state to participate in the survey, run by the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. If more than 17 percent of parents participate, the school district is eligible for a small grant. The survey takes between three and 10 minutes to complete and will help increase parental involvement in the schools. 2.
