A new, more active design for a handicapped sign that was created at Gordon College in Wenham will now be used in New York City.

A "passive, even helpless" symbol showing a person in a wheelchair to mark handicapped access to everything from parking spaces to restrooms has been redesigned by a group from Gordon College. College President Takes 'Contrarian Approach' To Graduation

Gordon College President D. Michael Lindsay is taking a "contrarian approach" to graduation, he writes in his latest column for Huffington Post.

Colleges may be doing their graduates a disservice by trying to come up with the perfect graduation speaker, according to Gordon College President D. Michael Lindsay. In his latest column for the Huffington Post, Lindsay said in the two years since he became president at Gordon he has though a lot about why the college celebrates commencement. The college can invite a "high-profile speaker" that can add cachet to the event or maybe offer "a rich, memorable message to the graduating class." But most of those speakers come as a cost, and most have notoriety. "The ensuing debate often overshadows and undermines the intent of the celebration," Lindsay writes, before concluding that someone from the Gordon campus will deliver the commencement …
