All ages had fun celebrating the Fourth of July at Patton Park on Wednesday afternoon for the Two Town Fourth, which featured children's games, a bicycle parade and Cow Patty Drop contest, among other fun.

Hundreds of people came out in the hot weather to the Two Town Fourth festivities at Patton Park on Wednesday afternoon to celebrate the Fourth of July in Hamilton and Wenham. The Fourth of July, or Independence Day, is a federal holiday. Here's what's open and closed on Wednesday.

It's the Fourth of July on Wednesday - officially known as Independence Day - which means some businesses are closed, others have limited hours and others are open with regular hours. The best bet is to call ahead to check - you can use Patch's directory page to find the phone number for any local business - but here’s a wrap-up of some of the businesses and government offices that you are most likely to be wondering whether it is open or not. Government: Hamilton Town Hall, Wenham Town Hall and Hamilton-Wenham Library are all closed. Mail: Hamilton Post Office, South Hamilton Post Office and Wenham Post Office are all closed. Showers: While Wednesday is expected to be an OK day weatherwise for the Fourth of July holiday, there is a good chance that a shower or thunderstorm will move through at some point. It wil be cloudy and temperatures will be into the 80s. 2. Two Town Fourth: The big event of the day is at Patton Park from noon to 3 p.m. for the Two Town Fourth celebration. It starts with a kids bicycle parade from the First United Methodist Church to Patton Park, followed by everything from kids games and barbecue to Cow Patty Drop and antique cars at the park through the afternoon. 3. 4th of July Celebration to Include Bike Parade, Games, BBQ and Much More

The Two Town Fourth of July event will run noon to 3 p.m. at Patton Park on Wednesday.

Wednesday’s Two Town Fourth of July festivities will start with a bicycle parade and end with "Cow Chip Bingo.” Between that, there will be everything from a barbecue, games and contests, craft vendors, antique cars and fire trucks - all from noon to 3 p.m. at Patton Park. The bike parade will start at the First United Methodist Church and make its way down Bay Road (Route 1A) to Patton Park. In addition to decorated bikes, the parade can include other decorated items, such as a wagon or a pet. A Marine Corps Color Guard will march into the park as part of the parade. After the parade makes it into the park., DJ Jill will provide entertainment and the Hamilton-Wenham Rotary Club will be running a barbeque, according to organizer Jeff Bird…
