PHOTOS: Fathers and Daughters Dance the Night Away

The Community House hosted a Father-Daughter Dance for the first time last weekend. Here are some photos from the evening.

It was a sold-out evening of fun at the Community House on Saturday night at its first Father-Daughter Winter Ball. "It was a great evening for everyone," said Carolyn Blaney, the Community House's marketing and sales manager. "People are still talking about it." And one mother wrote to Blaney to say that her "husband and daughter loved (Saturday) night's ball and are already looking forward to going again next year." "It sounded like it was beautiful and very well run," said Ann Wilder.

Dads and Daughters to Have 'A Ball' on Saturday Night

The first Father-Daughter Winter Ball be held on Saturday night at the Community House of Hamilton and Wenham.

Typically, Caleb Powers enjoy bike rides or swimming at the YMCA with his 6-year-old daughter Hannah. But on Saturday night, they’ll hit the town together. Caleb will put on a suitcoat and tie and Hannah will wear a dress. They’ll head out to the Community House of Hamilton and Wenham. It will be for the Father-Daughter Winter Ball – a first of its kind for the Community House. The ball runs 6-8 p.m. “It’s a fantastic, unique event that gives me and my daughter a chance to do something special,” said Powers, a Hamilton resident. Powers, who is a Community House board member, said he didn’t have any part in coming up with the idea for the event but said he jumped at the idea of doing something with his daughter where she could dress up but …
