Duathlon, Concert and Shakespeare All Part of Weekend Fun

Here's a quick look at some of the events coming up this weekend in Hamilton and Wenham and the nearby area.

Evening oceanside performances and a walk through newly preserved land in Hamilton are two of this weekend’s events. Get Out

'Hot Mikado' and Happy Birthday Celebration Are Part of Local Weekend Plans

There's plenty happening this weekend in Hamilton and Wenham during the first weekend of summer, including "Hot Mikado" and a 90th birthday celebration at Wenham Museum.

The weekend is bookended by two great events put on by the Community House of Hamilton-Wenham. Community House Theater’s production of Hot Mikado opens on Friday night at Pingree School’s auditorium and on Sunday night, “Classmates” will gather in the bandstand to entertain the Patton Park crowd. In addition, Wenham Museum celebrates its 90th birthday with a parade for kids and families and kayak tours start at Crane Wildlife Refuge, which will run weekends all summer. Block Party Tops Picks for Weekend Fun

There's plenty happening this weekend in Hamilton and Wenham, starting with a Block Party on Friday night and ending with the first Sunday night concert of the summer.

The kids are out of school and there’s no better way to celebrate than to spend an evening at the Community House and at Patton Park on Friday for the Community House Block Party. In addition this weekend, there’s plenty of other activities going on right here in the two towns – including the free Sunday evening concert series at Patton Park, which kicks off this weekend. Today is Wednesday, April 11. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Wenham Town Administrator: Outgoing Town Administrator Jeff Chelgren will get a farewell party on Wednesday morning at Wenham Town Hall. Chelgren’s last day on the job is Friday before he begins his new job at town administrator in Marblehead. He has held the top job in Wenham town government for 10 years. The event runs from 9:30-11 a.m. in the first floor meeting room at Town Hall. 2. Open Space and Trails: We normally wouldn’t mention something this far out of town, but there’s a great event happening on Wednesday morning in Wakefield with strong ties to our area. The North Shore Task Force and North Suburban Planning Council are hosting an open space and trails …
