Five Things to Know on March 12: Choralfest to Include Singers of All Ages

Today is Tuesday, March 12. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 1. Rain: Tuesday will be a cloudy and rainy day, with heavy rain forecasted for later in the day and temperatures into the mid-50s. But it should not last for long – the rain is forecasted to move out overnight and Wednesday is supposed to be a sunny day. 2. Choralfest: Choruses from all of the schools in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District come together for Choralfest on Tuesday night at Gordon College. It starts at 7 p.m. in the Chapel and admission is free. The annual event includes performances of “family favorites and classics” and ends with a “mass sing” where all of the choirs join together. 3. Unemployment: We’ll hear the latest …

Today is Tuesday, March 13. Here are five things you need to know: 1. 60s: The wacky winter weather continues on Tuesday. We had a snowstorm before Halloween and now we are seeing a virtual “heat wave” before St. Patrick’s Day. Temperatures will again solidly get into the 60s with partly sunny skies on Tuesday. 2. Recreation Survey: Anyone can have a say in the 10-year Hamilton-Wenham Recreation Master Plan process through an online survey that was posted on Monday. Gale Associates is working on the Master Plan and the survey is an important part of the work, asking a variety of questions from what current recreation programs you use now to how you want to hear about programs in the future. The seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate for Hamilton was 6.2 percent, with 227 people officially unemployed. In Wenham, the rate was 7.8 percent, with 148 people officially unemployed.   more ›
