West Nile Found in Mosquito Near Chebacco Lake, More Spraying Planned

The Hamilton Board of Health announced on Friday that another mosquito tested positive for West Nile Virus and another round of spraying will be conducted.

West Nile Virus has again been found in a mosquito in Hamilton, again on the east end of town. Health Agent Leslie Whalen said on Friday that the positive test means that officials plan to again spray next week. “We chose Wednesday because it looks like it could be too cold on Monday or Tuesday,” she said. Spraying can not be conducted when it is raining or is below 60 degrees. The spraying will occur along Essex Street and roads east of Essex Street between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Thursday, she said. It will be the fourth time that spraying has been conducted this summer and fall in Hamilton. Here are some safety tips for residents in the area planned to be sprayed: • People with asthma and/or other respiratory conditions may wish to stay …

Sandler's 'Grown Ups' Not Slated for Return to Chebacco

At least half of the upcoming Adam Sandler film 'Grown Ups 2' will be shot in Marblehead this summer, but there have been no plans revealed for filming any scenes on Chebacco Lake, where some scenes were shot for "Grown Ups" three years ago.

The majority of the star-packed Adam Sandler movie "Grown Ups 2" will be shot in Marblehead this summer, with filming expected to take place at several local schools, a home on Marblehead Neck and on Atlantic Avenue. But a reprersentative for the film's casting company and a member of the Chebacco Lake Association both say there's been no talk about returning to Chebacco Lake, where several scenes in "Grown Ups" were shot in 2009. The film's Location Manager, Charlie Harrington, appeared before the Wenham Board of Selectmen at Abbot Hall last month and asked for its permission to film "a large portion of the movie" in Marblehead over the next four months. "This is basically the town in the movie and we will be pretending everything else we…

ADD YOUR OWN: Six Signs That Spring Has Arrived in the Two Towns

There's already several signs that spring is here in Hamilton and Wenham. What are some signs you have seen of spring's arrival?

Tuesday was the first day of spring, and there has probably not been a start to spring in recent memory where it felt so much like spring.....err, summer.
