Donald Little Jr., who has helped the Myopia polo team win many a chukker, now devotes his attention to commanding the Centennial Farms thoroughbred racing partnership. And that partnership is in the heart of its season at the Saratoga Racetrack in upstate New York. Coming off the big Fasig-Tipton Yearling Sale at Saratoga, Little, son of the late Donald Little Sr., recently spoke with "Tell Me Something Good" columnist Helen Weatherall. Donald V. Little Sr., a man synonymous with Myopia Hunt Club for years, died on Wednesday from injuries he suffered while jumping in competition on Sunday in Florida.
Donald V. Little, the Master of the Foxhounds at Myopia Hunt Club who made a name for himself in the equestrian world here in Hamilton and across the country, died on Wednesday afternoon. Little was seriously injured on Sunday when he fell off his horse during the $10,000 Masters Jumper Classic at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Fla. An announcement of Little’s death was made in a press release issued on Wednesday afternoon by Equestrian Sports Productions, the Winter Equestrian Festival's producer. Following a spill from a horse on Sunday morning, Myopia’s Master of Foxhounds Donald V. Little remains in critical condition at Delray Medical Center in Florida, a hospital spokesman said on Wednesday. According to Molly Bailey of The Chronicle of the Horse, the accident occurred at the world-renowned Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Fla. on Sunday. Little, riding Superiur, was competing in the $10,000 Masters Jumper Classic. Superiur was the second of two mounts for Little in the event.
