Man to Return to Court After Allegedly Fleeing Hamilton Crash That Injured Woman

A Hamilton man is free on bail while after a car crash where he was allegedly driving and fled.

A Hamilton man accused of crashing a car into an utility pole and then fleeing the scene while the passenger remained injured in the car is scheduled to return to court on Thursday. The charges against Scott Argetes, 40, of 2 Lincoln Ave., Hamilton include leaving the scene of a property damage crash and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, marked lanes violation and no inspection sticker. The two most serious charges are misdemeanors punishable up to two years in jail. It happened back on April 18 at about 10:50 p.m. on Asbury Street near the intersection of Ricker Circle. Driver Crashes, Snaps Pole for Second Time in a Year

The same utility pole that was smashed in a crash last winter was snapped again over the weekend in a crash on Route 97 in Wenham.

For the second time in about a year, a driver crashed into the same utility pole along Route 97 and snapped it in half. The latest crash happened just after midnight on Saturday morning when Wenham police said the driver of a Chevrolet headed north went off the right side of the road and crashed into the pole. The driver allegedly left the scene after the crash and was located by police further north on Route 97 (Topsfield Road). The driver, who was not named by police, was not injured and denied medical treatment. He told police he fell asleep at the wheel. He was issued a summons for marked marked lanes violation, operating with a suspended license and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He’ll have to appear in Ipswich …

Hamilton Man Injured in 3-Car Connecticut Interstate Crash

A Lake Drive resident was hurt in the second of two crashes along a Connecticut interstate on Tuesday.

A Hamilton man was injured in a car crash Tuesday that happened when cars were slowing to approach an earlier accident on a Connecticut interstate, reports the Norwich Bulletin. A total of three vehicles were involved in the crash and a passenger in one of the vehicles was Scott O’Meara, 45, of Lake Drive in Hamilton. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries. The Bulletin reported that the crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. on the northbound side of I-395 as cars were slowing as they neared an earlier accident that seriously injured a Connecticut man. O’Meara was a passenger in one of the cars that was hit from behind by a third car “at a high rate of speed,” as they all headed toward the first crash …

Rt. 97 Closed For Hours After Crash Knocks Down Live Wires

A Wenham resident was not injured after the car crashed into an utility pole on Rt. 97 on Thursday evening, closing the road for several hours after live wires crashed to the ground.

A portion of Route 97 in Wenham was closed during the rush hour on Thursday evening after a car crashed into an utility pole, knocking live wires to the ground. It was not immediately clear why the car left the road near 21 Topsfield Road, just north of the Beverly line. Wenham police said the driver, Nancy MacKenney, 82, of Wenham was not injured and she denied medical attention. Police gave her a ride home to her Maple Street home after the crash. Wenham Police Sgt. Jeff Tobey said it was unclear whether charges would be filed or tickets would be issued. The investigation will continue, police said. The air bag went off in MacKenney’s 2005 Lexus sedan and she was wearing her seatbelt, police said. The first call about the crash came in …

Woman Injured When Car Hits Pole

A Hamilton woman was injured when her car hit an utility pole near Winthrop Elementary School on Monday.

A Hamilton woman was injured when the car she was driving slammed into a telephone pole in front of Cutler Elementary School on Monday. The crash remains under investigation, according to a report by Hamilton Police Officer Michael Girolimon. There was no immediate explanation for how it happened, Janet Rose, 50, of Hamilton was injured in the crash.  She was taken to Beverly Hospital by Lyons ambulance, where she was treated and released, according to a hospital spokesman. The pole that her car hit was damaged but did not break or fall in the crash.
