Bill Hudak of Boxford said he will not run for Congress in 2012, citing a busy schedule and personal issues, .
Richard Tisei has one more reason to smile this week. Republican congressional candidate and conservative firebrand Bill Hudak of Boxford has announced he is leaving the 2012 congressional race, saying he's simply too busy. “A business opportunity has presented itself to me, which in addition to my active law practice will involve substantial amounts of my time and effort for the balance of the year,” Hudak said in a e-mail statement announcing his decision on Monday morning. Hudak would have met Tisei in a Republican primary in September for the nod to face incumbent U.S. Rep. John Tierney, D-Salem in the race to represent the Sixth Congressional District. The Sixth District includes Hamilton and Wenham plus more than two dozen cities and…

Congressional candidate Richard Tisei saw a surge in campaign cash in the fourth quarter.
Just a few weeks after announcing his campaign for Congress, Republican Richard Tisei has reason to smile - as well as an impressive pile of money, for a Republican running in a largely Democratic district. The former State Senate minority leader and lieutenant governor candidate, who announced his candidacy for the state's 6th District congressional seat in mid-November, raked in $305,000 in the last seven weeks of 2011, according to a report by Roll Call. Both Hamilton and Wenham are in the 6th District. Former Sen. Richard Tisei announced his candidacy for U.S. Congress on Nov. 15 in Wakefield. Tisei is running in the 6th District, which includes Hamilton and Wenham.
Former State Sen. Richard Tisei announced on Tuesday morning he will run for the U.S. House of Representatives, pledging to offer voters a choice against Democratic incumbent John Tierney (D-Salem) in 2012, and a commitment to "turn the country around." Calling Rep. Tierney "one of the most ideological left-wing members" who has become part of the "great divide" in Washington, Tisei said Tierney's stance on raising taxes, increasing government spending and creating more regulations for small businesses doesn't accurately represent the people of the 6th District. "This district needs an independent-minded Congressman," Tisei said during his announcement to run for office at the Americal Civic Center in Wakefield, his hometown. "The people …

He will kick off his campaign seeking the 6th District congressional seat.
Former State Senate Majority Leader Richard Tisei will officially announce his run for the state’s 6th District seat in Congress on Tuesday in his hometown of Wakefield. “I own a small business, a real estate company, and I’ve been working with people who were really having a hard time, who’ve lost their jobs, who’ve seen their life savings disappear,” Tisei said of his decision to run. “The American dream of home ownership has disappeared.” One factor in his decision was the state’s redistricting plan, which Tisei said he was waiting to be completed before announcing his run. Hamilton and Wenham will remain in the sixth district under the proposal, which has yet to be finalized. Hamilton Selectmen Jeff Stinson said he is excited to see …
