Organizers of this summer's Art Grows Here two townwide outdoor art exhibit send out a thank you.
To the Editor: For 10 days in July, people explored Hamilton and Wenham in search of art. They were people like the family of four on bicycles, the Boston couple back for their third year in a row or the senior citizens in a bus from Beverly. All of them experienced something totally unique in Art Grows Here. These adventurous fans of art, following their maps across Hamilton into Wenham, were treated to an outsized bird’s nest woven with words, caricatures threaded in and around a tree and saw that Araneus the spider made his reappearance, in an even more fascinating guise than before. They got to try their hand at a large set of chimes situated in a blissful garden setting and just down the street saw the playful “G.B.,” out on an …

Art Grows Here has added an interactive musical installation to its outdoor art exhibit, which runs all this week.
An interactive musical installation is the latest addition to Art Grows Here. The outdoor art exhibit, in its third year in Hamilton and Wenham, started with art in yards and public spaces in the two towns. Theatrical performances were added, and this year will include Open Road Theatre’s production of “Our Town.” Also new this year is an instrument that can actually be “played,” called "Chime In." The attached video shows one way to play the instrument, which is at 31 Mill St. in Hamilton. Artist Jill Herrick-Lee said she has also have provided several kid-safe drumsticks. Art Grows Here opened on Friday and runs through Sunday. Already, Herrick-Lee said, children from The Kids Connection daycare down the street have stooped by to play …

Today is Thursday, March 8. Here are five things you need to know: 1. Record? There’s a possibility we could break a temperature record on Thursday with high temperatures forecasted to get into the mid-60s. Also expect a windy day, with gusts as high as 40 miles per hour. 2.
