1. APPLETON FARMS FAMILY FUN DAY

Where/When: Appleton Farms, Route 1A, Hamilton and Ipswich: Sunday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Why Go:Appleton Farms, the oldest continuously operated farm in the country, is opening its door to all on Sunday. The event will offer live music, farm animals, farm equipment and kids games. Additionally, there will be a 4H calf show and dog agility demonstration. A variety of food will be available, including Appleton Farm burgers and cheese, plus ice cream, cider donuts, apple cider and chowder.

Pricing: $20 per car for Trustees of the Reservations members, $25 per car for nonmembers

2. 'THE FOREIGNER' BY SEA CHANGE THEATRE

Where/When: Dane Street Church, 10 Dane St., Beverly; Friday, 8 p.m., Saturday, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Why Go: "The Foreigner" by Larry Shue kicks off the second season for Sea Change Theatre, a semi-professional nonprofit theatre. The comedy tells the story of Charlie, "a painfully shy British gentleman" who heads to a rural fishing lodge in Georgia where he is introduced to "an exotic foreigner who doesn't understand English."

Pricing: Adults, $12; Students, $10

3. SATURDAY MATINEE AT THE LIBRARY

Where/When: Peabody Institute Library of Danvers, 15 Sylvan St., Danvers; Saturday, 2 p.m.

Why Go: Every Saturday in the Gordon Room there's a free matinee.

Pricing: Free

4. 2ND ANNUAL WALK/RUN FOR LEUKEMIA CURE

Where/When: Lt. Ross Park, Johnson Street, Peabody; Sunday, 8 a.m.

Why Go: The second annual walk and run to benefit the Giving Hope Foundation is this Sunday, starting at Ross Park. The route is 5 miles. You can participate as a team, as a pair or just by yourself.

Pricing: The registration fee is $10 per person and each entrant is asked to raise $50 in sponsorships.

5. FAMILIES FORE THE WENHAM MUSEUM

Where/When: Golf Country, next to Richardson's Ice Cream, Middleton; Sunday, 1 p.m.

Why Go: This is an event for all ages that combines all sorts of fun - minigolf, ice cream and the chance to win a bicycle or corn maze tickets. All the proceeds go toward Wenham Museum's programs. The fee includes 18 Holes of mini-golf, ice cream, prize and a chance to win a variety of items including a kids bike from Pinnacle Bikes of Beverly, tickets to "A Christmas Story" at the Wang Theatre and passes to the Marini Farm Corn Maze.
