Monday Essentials: Register Now for Saturday's 5-Mile Race

A look at five things to know to get Monday and the week started from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

It is Monday, Aug. 5. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham:

1. Sun: Monday’s forecast sounds purely delightful – sunny and temperatures in the 70s. Looking at the week ahead, Tuesday and Wednesday also look delightful before rain is forecasted to move in on Thursday.

2. Paving: If you shopping trips typically take you to the shopping districts in Danvers and Peabody, you may like to know that a stretch of Sylvan Street near the town line will be town up starting Monday, with work lasting through the week. This will likely mess up traffic along that stretch of road, which is an important connector for drivers near the North Shore’s two malls.

3. Road Race: The Hamilton firefighters road race comes up on Saturday, and registration is going on now. The 26th annual race starts at 10 a.m.

4. Movies: The $3 movie specials that have been running this summer at AMC Loews theater at Liberty Tree Mall continues on Monday through Wednesday night at 10 p.m. this week. This week, G.I. Joe Retaliation is showing and the proceeds go to the Austism Foundation.
