Generals Sports Roundup: Volleyball Beats Salem in Five Games

The girls' volleyball team picked up their second win of the season on Friday and the golf team was defeated for the first time.

The girls' volleyball team picked up hard fought win in five games at Salem on Friday.

Volleyball:

Hamilton-Wenham, 3; Salem, 2.

The Generals (2-6) bested the Witches in five games by scores of 25-17; 25-22; 22-25; 20-25 and 15-7 in Salem on Friday.

Senior captain and outside hitter Charlotte Horton had 35 digs, 23 serves with seven aces and only one error for the Generals.

Junior libero Nikki Leonard had outstanding passing and there were some great digs by senior Monica Keating.

The team next plays at home on Monday versus Saugus.

Golf:

Triton, 138; Hamilton-Wenham, 130.

The Generals (9-1) golf team suffered its first lost of the season on the road on Friday, losing to Triton Regional High School.

Top scorers for the Generals were Ryan Richard, 30; Tom Conville, 23; Jack Keegan, 23 and Luke Drieze, 21.

The team next faces Manchester-Essex at home at on Monday.
