Hamilton BoS Votes To Deny FREE Second Opinion On Patton Park Pool
October 22: Citizens have come forward and have offered to pay for an independent engineering opinion on whether of not the Patton Park Pool can be repaired. Instead, on a four to one vote, the Selectmen have denied access to the pool to a pool company with no connection to the existing pool plans, in order to examine the facility.
What is the motivation of the four members of the BOS who voted no?
It is up to the Hamilton voters to decide if this $2.5 million expense, with most of the cost being funded by a twenty-year bond purchased by the town, is realistic. With interest on the bond adding another $200,000 to the price, is it worth the cost? Don’t we have better ideas for use of our Community Preservation Act funds? Senior Housing? Town Hall? Open Space?
