Wenham Native, Former Sox Pitcher, Takes Coaching Position With Jays

Bob Stanley joins the Jays coaching staff.

The Toronto Blue Jays announced that former Red Sox pitcher Bob Stanley will take over the Bullpen Coach position vacated by Pat Hentgen, as reported on Blue Bird Banter.

Stanley grew up in Wenham, and was a relief pitcher for the Red Sox from 1977 to 1989. Stanley is also remembered for being on the mound when Bill Buckner let the ball roll through his legs, losing the 1986 World Series.
