About 250 people passed through Birch Plains Field to join in on a kite flying adventure.
Kite Day, sponsored by the Friends of the Wenham Council on Aging, Wenham Council on Aging, Hamilton-Wenham Recreation Department, and the city of Beverly Recreation Department, is in its fifth year.
Dick Eddy, chairman of Kite Day, said it was one of its most successful years.
Organizers of the event hope it can bridge the generational divide between young and old.
"The opportunity for some of the seniors that are alone, they get to see the little ones and it warms the heart," said Paul Mendonca, a Wenham Council on Aging board member.
