Pro Player Plans Local Autograph Session on Monday

Michael Carter-Williams of Hamilton, a rookie point guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, will sign autographs Monday night at Modell's in Beverly.

Hamilton native Michael Carter-Williams, expected to make his professional basketball debut this fall with the Philadelphia 76ers, has an autograph session planned Monday at a nearby sports store.

Carter-Williams will be at the Modell’s Sporting Goods Store at North Beverly Plaza on Route 1A in Beverly on Monday from 6-8 p.m.

No photography will be allowed and passes will be distributed 30 minutes before the start of the autograph session to the first 100 people who are there to guarantee an autograph, according to a poster advertising the event from Modell’s.

Carter-Williams was a sophomore point guard at Syracuse University before deciding to enter the NBA draft earlier this year. He was taken at No. 11 by the 76ers.

Before playing a Syracuse, Carter-Williams started his high school basketball career as a freshman at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School before transferred to St. Andrew’s in Rhode Island, where he was named the state’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2011.
