Live Blog: Generals vs. Hornets in the Div. 3 East Lacrosse Quarterfinals
The No. 4 seed North Reading Hornets face the No. 5 seed Hamilton-Wenham Generals in North Reading on Monday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Div. 3 East boys' lacrosse tournament.

4:14 p.m. The game is over. The North Reading Hornets defeat the Hamilton-Wenham Generals 10-6 and advance to the Div. 3 East semifinals. The Hornets will play the winner of No. 1 Dover-Sherborn vs. No. 8 Norwell, which is being played Monday at 5 p.m. at Dover-Sherborn. The Hornets will face the winner of that game at a neutral site to be determined.

4:12 p.m. North Reading timeout with 1:02 to go in the game.
4:09 Hornets notch another goal from Cody Carbone, assisted by Mike O'Brien. Hornets up 10-6 with just more than two minutes to go.

4:08 p.m. With the Generals down by three goals with less than four minutes to go, Hamilton-Wenham fans are yelling "Right now blue."
4:07 p.m. Hornet goal by Bill Sexton, who took a pass from behind the Generals goal from Dylan Poor and tucked it in the goal.
4:04 p.m. Just over 5 minutes to go, 8-6 Hornets are on top.
4:03 p.m. Hornets goalie Andrew Burns comes 25 yards out of goal under tough Generals pressure. One member of the crowd mutters: "He's playing like (Bruins goalie) Tim Thomas."
4 p.m. Generals take a timeout with 7:40 to go in the fourth.
3:59 p.m. Hornets have capitalized on some missed passes by the Generals but have not scored. Two big saves by Generals goalie Luke Drieze.
3:57 p.m. The Generals are keeping the offensive pressure on the Hornets. Tad Decatur shot bounces off the post for the Generals.
3:55 p.m. Some great moves in front of the goal and a low, bouncing shot ends with a Matt Puter goal for the Generals. Hornets lead 8-6.
3:52 p.m. The third quarter is over and it is 8-5, with North Reading on top.
3:49 p.m. Hornets lead 8-5. North Reading's Bill Sexton scores on a bouncing shot from the right side. 1:11 to go in the third quarter.
3:47 p.m. Cody Carbone picks off a Generals clearing pass and takes it straight to the goal. Hornets up 7-5 with 3:02 to go in the third quarter.
3:44 p.m. With 4:04 to go in the third quarter, Elliott Burr notches a goal from in close to narrow the Hornets lead to 6-4.
3:41 p.m. The Hornets go up 6-4 with a goal from Anthony Lytle with an assist from Eric Valenti. The shot was a laser to the upper righthand corner.
3:36 p.m. Hornets get their first lead of the game, 5-4. The ball literally trickled along the ground into the goal. Dylan Poor is credited with the Hornets goal.
3:34 p.m. Great save by Generals freshman goalie Grant Thompson on a low shot.
3:33 p.m. And it's all tied up! The Hornets have tied it at 4-4 with a goal by Junior midfielder Eric Valenti and an assist by William Sexton.
3:32 Action is underway again in the third quarter.
3:22 p.m. There's a pretty stiff breeze blowing from the east (lengthwise down the field). It will be at the back of the Hornets to start the third quarter.
3:21 p.m. It's halftime in North Reading, Generals lead the Hornets 4-3 with 24 minutes of play to go.
3:20 With eight seconds to go before the half, North Reading Nathan Seed shot from in front of the goal goes high.
3:16 p.m. After getting the butt end of a stick in his back and with a penalty flag on the field, Cody Carbone just scored unassisted for the Hornets. 4-3 Generals with 2 minutes to go in the second.
3:14 p.m. North Reading timeout with 2:40 to go in the second, Generals lead 4-2 over the Hornets.
3:12 p.m. Crowd member yells to the field "You can't call a penalty when they have possession," and referee yells back "yes you can, it was interference."
3:10 p.m. Hornets goaltender Brian Conway comes out of goal to make a save on an Elliott Burr shot.
3:10 Two minute penalty for North Reading for a high hit.
3:06 p.m. Hamilton-Wenham has just called a timeout after getting a one minute penalty for slashing and a 30 second penalty for pushing. 5:20 to go in the second.
3:04 p.m. Hornet Michael O'Brien just beat Hamilton-Wenham goaltender Luke Drieze to his right at about waist height. Generals lead 4-2.
3:03 Burr grabs his third goal of the game, Generals go up 4-1 with seven minutes to go in the second quarter.
3:02 p.m. Generals goaltender Luke Drieze has come up with several big saves in the past few minutes.
2:56 p.m. The first quarter is over, Generals lead the Hornets 3-1.
2:52 p.m. Hornets attacker Dylan Poor was down on the field with an injury. He's up and walking and has left the field.
2:50 p.m. Several cars driving by the field on Park Street are honking with the passengers cheering out the windows.
2:46 p.m. Hornets sophomore attacker Nathan Seed has the first goal for North Reading, it's 3-1 Generals. Assist from William Sexton.
2:42 p.m. Generals go up 3-0 on a Eddie Frick goal.
2:39 p.m. Burr notches another goal, 2-0 Generals.
