Beverly defeated Hamilton-Wenham 10-2 at Harry Ball Field in Beverly in the District 15 title game. Beverly moves on to the sectional tournament, starting Wednesday night in Lynn.
The Generals had entered Friday night's game as the winner in the loser's bracket and had an uphill battle - the team needed two wins against Beverly, which had won the winner's bracket and needed just one win to take the District 15 title.
