Generals Fall in First State Tournament Game

Game 2 of the state tournament for Little League is Friday night in Beverly, where Hamilton-Wenham will take on Barnstable.

The Hamilton-Wenham Little League All-Stars were blanked in the team's first game of the State Tournament in Beverly on Thursday evening.

The Generals fell 5-0 to Newton Southeast in the first of three games in the round robin tournament. Hamilton-Wenham made it to the tournament after winning the District 15 and Section 4 championships.

Hamilton-Wenham returns to the diamond on Friday at 7 p.m. to take on Barnstable, the Section 2 Champions. Barnstable fell to Holden 13-5 in 5 innings on Thursday night. The tournament is being played at Harry Ball Field on Essex Street in Beverly.

It is the first time that a Hamilton-Wenham Little League team has made it to the State Tournament.
