Carter-Williams Helps 76ers Defeat Celtics in Garden Debut

The Hamilton native scored 10 points and had 7 assists in 35 minutes.

Michael Carter-Williams, the Hamilton native who is one of the top rookies this season in the NBA, played his first game as a pro in the TD Garden on Wednesday night, helping the Philadelphia 76ers defeat the Boston Celtics 95 to 94.

Carter-Williams, who grew up as a Celtics fan, scored 10 points and handed out 7 assists in 35 minutes. According to NBA.com, Carter-Williams had a sizable number of friends and family in attendance to support him at the Garden. 

He decided to leave Syracuse University after his sophomore year and was drafted No. 11 in last June's NBA draft by the 76ers.
