Bus Will Give Little League Fans Free Ride to Game

A free bus will take Little League fans from Hamilton-Wenham Library to Harry Ball Field in Beverly for Thursday night's State Tournament game.

Fans of the Hamilton-Wenham Little League All-Star team are being encouraged to take a bus - and not drive - to avoid parking problems at Thursday’s night State Tournament game in Beverly.

The first pitch for the game versus Newton Southeast, the Section 3 winners, is at 7:30 p.m. to start round robin play for the Generals.

Hamilton-Wenham is one of the state’s top four teams playing in the State Tournament all weekend in Beverly. The team advanced after winning Section 4 in Tewksbury last weekend.

The Hamilton-Wenham Babe Ruth and Baseball Boosters have organized the bus to take fans from Hamilton to cheer on the team at Harry Ball Field in Beverly. The parking lot at the field holds only a few dozen cars and cars typically stretch for a half mile or more along the street in neighborhoods near the field for big games.

"Parking will be next to impossible given the significance of these games and the four sections of Massachusetts traveling to the field to play tonight," said an announcement publicizing the bus rides.
