Agawam Pee Wee 1's are Runner-up at New Hampshire Tournament

The Agawam Chiefs defeated Billerica, North Andover, and King Phillip on its way to the Championship game vs Winchester at the Deep Freeze Tournament in Waterville Valley, NH.  The Chiefs success was keyed by outstanding goaltending by Henry Cabot, defense by Mark Roselli, Christian Fabbri, Ben Gibson, and Clint Gourdeau, and solid 2-way play by wings Corinna Dorr, Simon Peterson, Aidan Daley, William Jones, Cooper McNinch, Tucker Spencer and Centers Billy Curtis and Henry Jones.  In the first game, the Chiefs defeated Billerica 7-0 on goals by Simon Peterson, Tucker Spencer, 2 by William Jones, Aidan Daley, Cooper McNinch, and Henry Jones.  In game 2, the Chiefs defeated North Andover 6-1 on goals by Tucker Spencer, 2 by Billy Curtis, Daley, Christian Fabbri, and Peterson.  Needing a victory to make it to the Championship game, the Chiefs came up big defeating a tough King Phillip squad 4-2.  Again, goaltending, defense and solid two-way forward play keyed the victory.  Goal scorers were Spencer (2), Curtis and Daley.  In the Championship game, the Chiefs received 2 goals from Spencer, but fell short to a tough Winchester squad.  Coaches Chris Gibson and Ken Spencer lauded the effort of the team and complemented their hustle, composure, and execution.

Agawam Mite AA's Stay Atop Division with a Win and a Tie 

The Agawam Mite AA travel hockey team registered 3 out of a possible 4 points to remain tied for the division lead after a wild 6-6 tie versus Waltham and a win against rival Hollis, NH. 

The Chiefs raced out to a 5-0 lead against Waltham thanks to 3 goals from Jack Erdmann and one each from Deuce Morton and Michael Deoreo.  The Hawks came storming back and game ended up tied 6-6.  Great offensive effort from Luke Demaso, Harlan Graber and Owen Faldi as well as stellar defense from William Moroney,  Colby Doane, Max Almeida along with goaltender Sam York made it a great team effort.

Against Hollis, the combination of Erdmann, Deoreo, and Graber, was too much for the opposition as the Chiefs cruised to a 7-3 victory.  The game was highlighted by a terrific breakaway goal by stalwart defenseman Max Almeida (off a Faldi pass)  midway through the third period.  The Chiefs called upon several players (Quinn Brady, Coleman Connors and Sam Phippen) from the Mite A squad for the game and they all did a fanstastic job contributing to the win.  Goaltender York played one of his finest games of the season stopping several point blank shots. 

The Chiefs continue their Valley League schedule next week against Everett/Revere.
